From the Courtroom to the Clouds: Klang Legal Veteran Liew Ngan Fung Conquers Mount Kinabalu
Proving that determination knows no bounds—whether navigating complex legal terrains or scaling literal heights—Liew Ngan Fung, the Managing Partner of prominent legal firm Liew, Khong & Co, successfully reached the summit of Mount Kinabalu on 28 June 2025.
Standing at 4,095.2 meters (13,435 feet) above sea level, Mount Kinabalu is Malaysia's highest peak and a formidable challenge requiring immense physical endurance and mental fortitude. For Lawyer Liew, a veteran advocate and solicitor with over 30 years of legal experience in Klang, the expedition represents more than just a personal milestone; it mirrors the grit, resilience, and steady focus required to lead a premier legal practice.
The climb, which culminated in reaching Low's Peak just in time to witness the sunrise, was a testament to meticulous preparation.
The achievement has resonated deeply within the legal community and among the team at Liew, Khong & Co, which has been serving private and corporate clients across the Klang Valley for over two decades. The milestone underscores a firm-wide ethos that prioritizes leadership by example, endurance, and the pursuit of excellence beyond professional boundaries.
As Lawyer Liew returns to the helm of the firm's newly expanded Bandar Baru Klang office, this peak performance stands as an inspiring narrative of work-life synergy, demonstrating that true leadership involves breaking barriers both inside and outside the courtroom.
“Scaling Mount Kinabalu has a parallel to the practice of law. The journey up the mountain is gruelling, demanding deliberate pacing, a clear strategy, and absolute resilience through changing conditions. It's a powerful reminder that with a solid foundation, trusted companions, and persistent effort, no peak is too high to conquer—whether in life or in business.”
